Telegram has secured a one-year deal with Elon Musk’s xAI to integrate the Grok chatbot into its messaging platform. The agreement, announced by Telegram CEO Pavel Durov, includes a $300 million payment to Telegram—partly in cash and partly in equity—along with 50% of revenue from xAI subscriptions sold through Telegram.

The partnership aims to distribute Grok to Telegram’s billion-plus users, further expanding the platform’s monetization strategy. Telegram Premium, its paid tier, now boasts over 15 million subscribers, doubling its count from a year ago.

The collaboration positions Telegram at the forefront of AI integration in messaging, leveraging xAI’s technology to enhance user engagement. "Together, we win!" Durov declared, underscoring the mutual benefits of the deal.
